Mentor, Friend, and Guiding Light. To honor Marcia Conrad,
former Dean of Students, with the 2016 President's Award,
Bay Path alumni spanning five decades shared stories from the
heart that illustrated the indelible impact that Dean Conrad
had on each of their lives. Melissa Mazer Scott '97, Charlene H.
Davis Mazer '67, Shannon Cooley '00, Barbara Hitchcock '68,
and Christine Lear '85 offered emotional words of gratitude
for Dean Conrad's devotion to each student's success and
her ongoing care for every Bay Path alumna – each of whom
she still knows by name.
Dean Marcia Conrad was celebrated not only by a "full house"
in Mills Theatre, but by her family as well – including her hus-
band Irving, and her granddaughters.
BOLD Honorees. Jasmine Matta Naylor '06 G'09 G'10, recipient of the Recent
Alumni Award, and Louise McGuire Kursmark '76, co-recipient of the Carpe
Diem Award with former roommate Jan LaFountain Melnik '76, are joined by
Dr. Carol Leary and Marcia Conrad following the Celebration Lunch. Jasmine
was joined by her family, whom she thanked for enabling her to be a BOLD
Woman. Jan later made a gift to the BOLD Women's Scholarship in honor of
Louise, celebrating her best friend "…for her brilliant advice, laughs-and-love,
and for always being there."
