About BOLD Established in Spring 2012 through gifts made by Bay Path alumni and friends, BOLD provides scholarships to undergraduate women – traditional age and adult, online and on ground – with high financial need and promise. BOLD scholarships also help to retain students who face unanticipated financial hardship and who are at risk of not being able to continue at Bay Path. Through a combination of "immediate use" and endowed portions, the BOLD Women's Scholarship enables Bay Path to respond to students' needs quickly and ensures that BOLD fund- ing will be available to future generations of BOLD women. Since BOLD's inception, over 70 Bay Path students have benefitted from scholarship support that has inspired them to act, think, and live boldly. Through stories submitted by BOLD donors – written to honor the BOLD women and men in their lives – Bay Path students come to understand what it means to be bold. And they are given the chance to write their own BOLD story. "My Mom is BOLD. She never graduated from high school, raised us as a single mother, and has worked for over 30 years as a housekeeper in a hotel. She encouraged us to work hard at our jobs – no matter what it was. She taught me to never take anything for granted. Thanks to her, I know the importance of perseverance and the gift of being grateful." This gift falls within the range of what a Bay Path student is awarded in one semester, and is a gift that enables her to remain at Bay Path focused on what matters: achieving her degree. With your BOLD gift of $1,000 or greater, we invite you to honor a 'bold' woman or man in your life, and to tell her/his story of boldness. Through your words, our students will begin to uncover their own bold stories. They will look to you for inspiration, and that is exactly what they'll find. BOLD donors at this leadership level will have the opportunity to meet BOLD students throughout the year, including at a special event to celebrate BOLD's 5th Anniversary in late 2017.
