She remembers when, about eight years after she graduated, she went to visit campus and Ellie Gay walked past her and said "Hello, Deb" as if she had never left. Deb says it is "one of the advantages of attending a small school!" Deb thinks it would be fun to support the Carpe Diem Dash even though she cannot walk in it due to two broken ankles from horse injuries. The "Mimosas Down Memory Lane" means a lot to Deb because she and her husband served mimosas at their wedding breakfast 27 years ago. They married at sunrise to symbolize a new beginning, but had such thick fog that they could not see each other during their vows. Deb says, "I could speak knowingly on a life well lived." By age 10 she knew she would have her own farm to provide the environment she wanted for all the animals she intended to have. She says that was the reason she was the very best at everything she did including: top of her Bay Path graduating class, starting her own secretarial firm, and becoming the number one realtor in her office until she was able to buy the Wilbraham farm at the age of 36. She talked to women who, when they were young, didn't know what they wanted in life. Deb feels that having an early, clear goal gave her better trajectory on her life, and how 'WELL' Bay Path prepared her for it. Deb and John are enjoying retirement on their 47-acre horse farm in north- east Tennessee. They are happily surrounded by deer, turkeys, hawks, owls, woodchucks, bobcats and, of course, horses! Deb shares that her region has a mild four season climate with rare, mild snowfall. She says what she misses most about "up home" is the Bay Path community—"FABULOUS New Englanders!" 1969 Carol Paddock Goodspeed Class Agent P.O.
