2 FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK Carpe Diem At the beginning of the New Year, I always take the time to reflect on the preceding months. It is my opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments and, more important, ask the question: how did we do? With all honesty, I must admit that 2014 exceeded my expectations. That's why the piece, "Our Top Ten," seemed entirely appropriate—there was so much good news to celebrate! In the end, as you will read, this Top Ten list re-shaped the direction of Bay Path. Perhaps the most pivotal event, the focus of this Bay Pathway, was Bay Path College becoming Bay Path University. "Own Our Story" reminds us of our 118-year history that brought us to this new level, helping us to leverage our reach to prospective students even on the global stage. We would not have become a University without the strong leadership and dedication to quality of our past presidents, faculty, staff, trustees, and alumni. As ' The Words with Friends Reminds Us,' it is now a history and future we can all share. This issue of the Bay Pathway is about your College…your University. Just this past October, we celebrated our first alumni reunion under the banner of Bay Path University. It was a glorious day! (see Reunion recap on page 20). Finally, on March 27, 2015, Bay Path will reach another milestone with the 20th anniversary of the Annual Women's Leadership Conference. I hope you can join me on that date, reconnect with other alumni, and learn how your University is writing its next chapter. Carpe Diem! Carol A. Leary Carol A. Leary Bay Pathway Winter 2015
