If no class agent is listed, please send your news to Amanda Sbriscia, director of alumni giving & alumni relations at: asbriscia@baypath.edu. 1938 Venessa O'Brien Class Agent 39 Robin Rd., Longmeadow, MA 01106 413.567.1375 obrienbutterfly1@aol.com Venessa O'Brien '38 (below) received the Standing on Her Shoulders Award from the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts in 2013. The award celebrates "risk-takers and innovators in our counties who, through their determination and leadership, have increased opportunities and blazed trails." Venessa was invited to the Massachusetts State House to view her portrait in the beautiful Hall of Flags on May 21, 2014! We congratulate Venessa. 1939 Mary Rufenacht '39 (below) in a pink boa in recognition of her generosity to Bay Path throughout the years. Mary fondly remembers attending dances and being a member of the basketball team and quips that she had difficulty passing the penmanship class. 1941 Helen Plisga Lachapelle has completed her genealogy chart for her family name "Plisga" and found that she has 50 nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews! It was a most enjoyable undertaking. 1943 President Leary talks with Irving Bashevkin '43 at the Annual Sarasota Lunch held in January. Bay Path snowbirds dined while overlooking the ocean at Sarasota's Marina Jack restaurant. 1947 Ruth Howard Dodge is sorry to have missed the reunion this past October, but her thoughts were with everyone who attended! She and her husband Ed are still on the Cape. They see their family frequently and all are healthy and doing fine. Ruth and Ed miss their friends as they are getting older, like they themselves are, but they keep in touch. She says, "Bay Path is doing great and we are proud of its growth!" Claire Russell James has moved to Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing in Springfield to be closer to her daughter in Northampton. It took her some time to adjust but now she is content! Claire has friends there from prior to living on Cape Cod, which has made the move easier! 1951 Life is good for Barbara Andersen in the hands of the Lord. In the last three years, she has survived two colon cancer surgeries and started to overcome the loss of her husband by staying busy with church activities, daughter visits, and couch time with her cocker spaniel and cat "Tabby." 1953 Lenore Wrang Schumann Class Agent 3 Red Bird Trail, Indiantown Old Saybrook, CT 06475 860.346.3646 aschumann02@att.net Shirley Gelormino Smith is saddened to report that her husband passed away. She is still an active Fort Lauderdale real estate agent and very active in city politics. Shirley sits on three boards. 1955 Dorothy Masajada Hartland Class Agent 70 Cayenne St., West Springfield, MA 01089 413.733.9205 Lois Powers Day writes that, after losing her husband in May 2009, she has continued to enjoy being with her children and grandchildren. She says "They keep me busy and young in spirit! 1956 Rowena Parker Blythe '56 achieved membership in the Dressage Foundation's Century Club and was featured in Dressage Magazine. The Century Club recognizes dressage riders and their horses whose combined age totals 100 years or more. Horse and rider perform a dressage test of any level at a dressage show or event, and are scored by a dressage judge or professional. 1962 On a recent trip to California, President Leary visited Jaci Gilman '62, pictured here with classmate Ruth Vignati '62. 27 www.baypath.edu
