I worked as a paralegal in New York and Georgia for several years, but I saw many lawyers who were unhappy, some who even tried to steer me away from the law. I ended up leaving the legal field altogether for a bit, and worked for Atlanta entrepreneur Felker J. Ward, Jr. I then got a call about a corporate paralegal position at my current employer, H.J. Russell & Company, and decided to try out the legal field again. I was still debat- ing whether I should go to law school, but ultimately made the decision to do it because I didn't want to have any regrets down the line. My first job out of law school was a corporate law position at H.J. Russell, and I have been here ever since. In 2018, I was promoted to General Counsel, and I love having the opportunity to advance, have a seat at the table, and help make decisions that will shape the company and where it goes in the future. Every day is different, and I love the blend of business and law, two things I loved studying during my time at Bay Path." To learn more about Yasmine, visit www.baypath.edu/baypathway. Saying Yes to "I Do" Rebecca Stebbins '99 "After Bay Path, I worked at the Bushnell Performing Arts Center in Special Events, helping to open its new theater. I then completed a year-long sales and marketing internship in Hawaii, after which I returned to my home state of Connecticut to work in special events at the Water's Edge Resort and Spa. I started working in corporate events, and I later took over all of the resort's weddings. Since 2006 I have worked at the Venetian Resort Las Vegas, where I started as a catering conference manager, running and assisting with events ranging in size from 30 to 15,000 people. I am now the Director of Celebrations, and oversee all weddings, bachelor/ette parties, and other gatherings at the hotel." What advice does Rebecca have for prospective newlyweds? It has been one of the greatest experiences in my life—I felt I was doing something very important for my country. While I was enlisted, I pursued a master's degree online in psychology with a concentration in military psychology from Adler University in Chicago, IL. I knew once I left the army I wanted to work with our veterans." The story doesn't stop here!
