The future is here,
and it is called the
Internet of Things (IoT). Science fiction
writers from 50 and even 100 years ago
used their imaginations to create a society
seemingly light-years away that was driven
by technology. Ray Bradbury described
cars that could run themselves in his short
story "The Pedestrian", and H.G. Wells in
his classic novel,
The Shape of Things
to Come, wrote of communication devices
that could be strapped to a person's wrist
to relay and collect information. Amazingly,
they weren't far off in their fantasy devices.
With a blink of an eye, their predictions are
here: we are on the wave of the Internet of
Things era.
