One of several pioneering women in a field dominated by men, Marcia became a respected administrator, overseeing very large and old trusts. With discretion combined with an intricate knowledge of federal and local banking regulations and requirements, Marcia prudently managed the investments and monitored the distribution of her clients' trusts. And Marcia's down-to-earth manner was also invaluable in building successful relationships with both trustors and beneficiaries. Many of her clients remained with her for decades because they were comfortable with her honest and professional approach. Marcia's experience in preserving the financial legacy of individuals and families gave her great insight into her own estate planning. A consistent donor to Bay Path, Marcia has supported the Carpe Diem Fund, the Carol Leary Scholarship for First Generation College Students, the KEEP US ON THE PATH campaign, and the IT BEGINS HERE campaign. A member of the Legacy Society, Marcia included Bay Path in her own estate planning by establishing a named scholarship through a bequest. The Marcia Bauman Cavanaugh '55 Endowed Scholarship will help undergraduate students from the greater New Haven, CT, and greater Springfield, MA, area receive funds to earn their degree. "I am blessed to have such a wonderful, satisfactory career, and I want to extend that same opportunity to students. It means so much to me that I will be able to impact lives in the future." With her professional background, Marcia knows a wise investment. She has put her trust in the future accomplish- ments of Bay Path students because it makes good sense.
