Fond Farewell comBined, our Bay patH community retirees Have provided over 80 years oF service to tHe university. 23 www.baypath.edu ANDREA RUSSO For years, as the senior member of the faculty, Professor of Business Andrea Russo has led the Commencement procession. She has been at Bay Path for over four decades, teaching under three presidents, witnessing three name changes (from Junior College to College to University), and attending many of the Women's Leadership Conferences. Respected by her peers, Professor Russo's greatest impact has been in the classroom, forever influencing the careers and lives of generations of Bay Path alumni. DONNA GUERTIN Over her 16 year tenure, Associate VP for Finance Donna Guertin has helped to maintain the fiscal health and integrity of the University. In her role, she oversaw many accounting functions including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant accounting, compliance, payroll, and the bursar's office, as well as the annual financial audit. A trusted advisor to VP for Finance and Administrative Services Mike Giampietro and President Leary, Donna was also heavily involved with the finance, audit, and investment board committees. Her sound financial analysis and experience will be profoundly missed. LYNN GEORGE Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions Lynn George began her career at Bay Path over 15 years ago in a program that was daringly launched by the University: the One-Day-A-Week College. It was an initiative that opened new doors for adult women to earn their degree. For many of the One Day women, Lynn was there for them at their beginnings, every step of the way guiding them through the admissions process. In time she took the admissions reins for the Master of Occupational Therapy, one of the largest programs at Bay Path, and led a new group of potential students on the road to achieving their dreams. Carpe Diem! ROBERT WORTEN Night or day, sun or rain, we could count on Officer Bob Worten. A nine-year member of our Campus Public Safety department, Bob was not only there—he was approachable. Whether it was helping a student start their car, directing traffic, or assisting someone in need, he did his job with quiet integrity. Thank you, Bob, for helping to keep us safe. Congratulations KARA STEVENS , Director of the Accounting Programs, Assistant Accounting Professor, was recognized as one of six "2015 Women to Watch," and named an "Emerging Leader," by the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) at an awards ceremony on October 29, 2015. This recognition was received for meeting the following criteria: mentoring other professionals; leadership in workplace initiatives and improve- ments; overall contributions to the profession and workplace; public or community service; and involvement with colleges and universities. Kara helped develop and launch our MS in Accounting that is now in its second year. A Difference Maker Since 2009, BusinessWest, the region's leading print and online business publication, has been honoring individuals, groups, organizations, and families that are positively impacting the Pioneer Valley. Designated as a "Difference Maker," each of the recipients fits one or more of the following criteria: they work within the community on one or many initiatives to improve our quality of life; they show success in business, public service, or education; their contributions inspire others to get involved; and through imaginative efforts they help solve one or more societal issues. Our own President CAROL LEARY has been selected to be one of the Class of 2016 Difference Makers. To read more of the backstory, go to the News Section on baypath.edu, or better yet, follow us on twitter—we will be live tweeting from the event on March 31.
