13 www.baypath.edu No ordinary celebration would do. To mark Dr. Carol Leary's 20th year as President of Bay Path, we couldn't simply tie balloons and bake a cake. Honoring twenty years of leader- ship would take a herculean effort. Think Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Even a paper cut-out of the President (affectionately called "Flat Carol") was created to give alumni and friends from across the globe an opportunity to be a part of the celebration. #20yrsatBPU enabled hundreds of alumni and friends to send well- wishes to President Leary on this momentous occasion – without her ever suspecting a thing. Tweets and posts came together in a big way, and much to her surprise, Dr. Leary now has a virtual memory book of notes honoring her remarkable twenty years – and counting – at the helm. (We made her a hard copy, too!) It Was Definitely Social: #20yrsatBPU It was a real surprise! Students, faculty, staff, trustees and friends gathered on April 22 for the culmination of a month- long virtual party in President Leary's honor. Trustees Jane Roulier '89, Gloria Smith, Ted Fleming, Barbara Sadowsky, Robyn Newhouse, Roberta Bolduc and Kay Bernon were in on the surprise and joined Dr. Leary in Blake Dining Hall on April 22, 2015. The Carol A. Leary Endowed Scholarship Fund for First Generation College Students helps to make the dream of higher education possible for countless women. And we could think of no better gift to give Dr. Leary on this milestone than to build this Fund to continue her legacy. At her surprise celebration on April 22, we announced that over $75,000 had been raised for her scholarship to celebrate her 20th – bringing the Fund's total to over $325,000 in support of today's Bay Path students.
