For over twenty years, Dr. Cheryl Leary has been a respected and revered presence at Bay Path. At Commencement 2014, her retirement was announced, and she was honored at the recent University Holiday Party. Possessed with a natural kindness and empathy that was evident to all, her position as Professor in the Psychology Department, and subsequently the Chair, was more than fitting. She taught, mentored, and guided hundreds of undergraduates and graduates to embrace high standards in their respective professions in the psychology field, but, more important, she always reminded them that the human heart is at the core of all their work. The founding director of the MS in Developmental Psychology and the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, in 2014 she received the Estelle Leavitt Award for Teaching Excellence. With deep sincerity, we wish Dr. Cheryl Leary well in her new path, and celebrate her joy of life that will now live on in her students. Keeping the Dream Alive It took Professor John Jarvis seven years to write Johnny Pail Face, a biography of his dear friend who recently passed away at the age of 95. Johnny's incredible story spans his early days on a Navajo reservation to fighting in World War II to finally discovering what it means to live and to love. A supporter of Bay Path, Johnny agreed that a portion of the book sales would go to fund the Johnny Pail Face Endowed Scholarships. Thanks to his generosity, Johnny's legacy will live on. To purchase the book, go to www.levellerspress.com or Follett, the Bay Path University bookstore. PEOPLE IN THE NEWS New Board of Trustees Members announced Dr. Cheryl Leary
