Alumna
Lori Roop is a powerful example of
how
a Bay Path education can take you
anywhere,
even places you might not
expect. After graduating from Bay Path
in 1979, a volunteer opportunity with
Connecticut state senator Nancy Johnson's
congressional campaign turned into full-
time work in Washington, D.C. Eventually
Lori became Director of Scheduling and
Advance for labor secretary Elizabeth Dole,
a role that would take Lori across the
country and the world. For the past eight
years, Lori has been Director of Special
Events for the United States Holocaust
Museum, where she oversees a staff of
eight in the planning and execution of more
than 200 events a year in Washington,
D.C., and in cities across the country. Her
secret to success? "I credit where I am to
Bay Path: Bay Path was my launching pad
for my career, giving me the skills, mindset,
and tools to move forward." When Lori
isn't working, you will likely find her volun-
teering at her church, or on campus for a
meeting of the Bay Path Board of Trustees,
which Lori joined in 2014. Lori and her hus-
band, Jon, have also served as event chairs
for the Bay Path University President's
Gala, which gives Lori the opportunity to
combine her professional expertise with
her desire to support her alma mater.
